A rare and important collection of 18th century ornithological pictures.
Michael Mays was asked to research the largest collection of basso relievo bird pictures to have come to the market since the 1930’s. These unusual pictures which were made of embossed card and then hand coloured, were first produced by Samuel Dixon of Dublin in the 1740’s.
